I don’t claim I can read your mind or your life for that case, but growth over the years has shown me that these are the 10 things you think about too often:
1) Who Everyone wants You To Be…
Yeah, you keep thinking about that, what your mum wants you to be, what your relatives want you to be. You were born to be you, not who they tell you to be. You are not here to be perfect; you are here to be true.
2) What You don’t have
You are thinking about that perfect body shape like for the Victoria Secret models or the Brad Pitt six abs. Stop thinking about what you don’t have, happiness is realizing what you have and being thankful for it.
3) What You Fear
Rather thank thinking about your fears, why not face the fears. I used to fear death, goodness, I kept on fearing anything to do with this word, till I said enough is enough and realized that actually knowing I would be dead soon, was the key to the shinning me. Because once you realize that you will soon die, you just go for everything your heart tells you.
4) Old Mistakes
You keep beating yourself for the things that went wrong and regret. Let me tell you this, if you have no mistakes then you are not growing, Whether you cheated in a relationship, disappointed your parents or betrayed someone, that’s the past, you don’t have to think about that anymore, only carry the lessons with you.
5) Old wounds
Goodness, people carry wounds that have not healed. They are still thinking about some wrong that someone did to them or their parents. My dad died a mysterious death but that doesn’t matter, I healed from that even though the truth was out in the open. Stop thinking about old wounds, let them heal and move the crap on.
6) Impressing the Wrong People
You could spend your entire life trying to impress everyone around you. Of course, it wouldn’t get you very far.
7) Important dreams you aren’t actively pursuing.
Stop thinking about these dreams and start doing. I used to think about writing for Daily Monitor until one morning I woke up and went to the Managing Editor’s office and said: “I want to write for this paper.”So why not do something about that important idea you’ve had for too long, why not pursue it.
8) The impossible looking aerial view of a big project.
We all have those big projects that really look impossible. Life has taught me that we always think about these impossibilities. The solution is to break this big project into smaller easier projects and work on those small projects one by one. If your goal is to have an entertainment website, break it down into, “getting a team of partners” , “Buying a domain name””Getting a web-designer” etc
9) Situations You Have Zero Control Over
We keep thinking about these situations, they steal our peace. We get so bothered that it’s going to rain, we get so bothered when we are stuck in traffic jam. We get so bothered about those who’ve chosen to be gay. But that’s letting situations steal your peace. I have chosen to focus on my life rather than on situations I can’t control. Spend your thoughts and efforts on controlling what you do have power over, rather than wasting your peace of mind on the uncontrollable. For example, I can’t control my girlfriend if she chooses to cheat on me, but I can control myself and choose not to cheat.
10) Another Time and Place
We keep thinking of some other place when things are perfect, of some other time when happiness is abundant, we keep thinking of that other place and time. But life has taught me, that where you are now is exactly where you need to be to get to where you want to go tomorrow. The present moment has everything you can ever desire for if you only open your eyes and become attentive to life. The present moment is always filled with wonder. Right now is a phenomenon. Right now extraordinary things are happening. If you are attentive, you will see them.
