Not every man, either married or single, is a husband. Not every woman, whether married or single, is a wife. Without the qualities of a husband, you are just a man. Without the qualities of a wife, you are just a woman.
It’s not wedding that makes you a husband. You should have become one before you marry. You don’t become a wife when you marry. You should have become one before you wed. You only exhibit and express the qualities of a husband or wife when you marry. That is why the Bible says “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord” (Proverbs 18 : 22 ESV)
If a man must find a wife, that means a wife is scarce and one must thoroughly and patiently search for her. He must carefully look for the woman who already has all the qualities of a wife, well developed and functioning in her. Else, he would marry someone who is not yet a wife or who is far from being a wife. And only a man who is a husband, who have developed the qualities of a husband can see and recognize a woman with a well developed wife qualities when he sees one. This is a very serious matter. It is the major reason why many marriages are failing and crumbling.
A lot of married people are just men and women without well developed qualities of a husband and wife. This is why we are going to look at the qualities of husband and the qualities of a wife and how to develop them. This will help you to upgrade yourself if you are already married. If you are single, it will help you to become a husband or a wife before you go into marriage.
Before go into that, let’s look at these combinations together.
1) If a man who has not yet developed the qualities of a husband marries a woman who is also yet to develop the qualities of a wife, how would their marriage be? It would be a TURBULENT marriage. It would be very difficult for them to live together as husband and wife because they are yet to become one. So separation and divorce would be inevitable because the marriage will totally fall and crumble.
2) If a man who has developed the qualities of a husband marries a woman who is yet to develop the qualities of a wife, how would their marriage be? That would be a TERRIBLE marriage. The man, her children and home would suffer so much in her hands. She would by herself destroy her marriage and home and even destroy her husband and the lives of her children, if care is not taken.
3) If a man who has not yet developed the qualities of a husband marries a woman who has developed the qualities of a wife, how would their marriage be? That would be a TEARFUL marriage. The woman will never know peace of mind, joy or happiness. She will continually cry. She and her children would suffer so many abuse, neglects, maltreatments, lack of adequate protection, provisions and care from the man.
4) If a man with well developed qualities of a husband marries a woman with well developed qualities of a wife, how would their marriage be? That would be a TREASURED marriage. Their marriage would exhibit and radiates so much love, peace, harmony, happiness, joy, care, success, prosperity, blessings, progress and fulfillment.
