“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth”. This is in 1 John 3:18 For many of us, our primary love language is “Words of Affirmation” so we easily fall for compliments, praises and appreciation. We tend to believe people when they put together nice poems to wow us. These days there are love politicians who will put together nice manifesto just to get what they want from you. Just as you go to a restaurant and order ONLY what you want; it’s the same with relationships.
People know what they want but some just hide their motives. These were the words of John to Rose “I love you. Despite all our differences, and mistakes, there’s nobody else I want to be with. You really don’t see how much I love you, do you? Let me try and explain. Its like when I think about my future, all I see is you. I don’t know how else to explain it but I can’t be without you. You are my present and my future. Nobody else even comes close.
Without you in my life, I would rather die. I would never give up on you or us, because I love you too much. You complete me”. These words awoke the soul of Rose and planted fire in her heart, making her reach for more. But suddenly after having sex with John, he has changed like chameleon. Our problem is, we crave for feelings we have never felt, bodies we have never touched, and love we have never had, and that’s why life can be so depressing.
Rose doesn’t know the difference between “like” and “love” If you like a flower, you will pick it, but if you love it, you will water it every day. When someone says they love you, let them prove it for love is not a NOUN to be defined but a VERB to be acted upon. You also have to understand love is an unconditional commitment to an imperfect person, to love somebody isn’t just a strong feeling.
It is a decision, a judgment and a promise. Love is about sharing, if they can’t then its not real. Again, If someone intends to love you, be sure they accept the challenge called CHANGES. Above all, Love the person who will help you get much closer to GOD. Not the one who’ll become the reason for you to create a distance with GOD.
In conclusion, “Its better not to make a promise at all than to make one and not keep it” – Ecclesiastes 5:5 (CEV).
