DON’T MISTAKEN A SNAKE FOR A DOG

Dogs and snakes are both animals. A snake appears more powerful and dangerous than the dog but the truth is, a dog is more powerful. One of the very things which makes dogs more powerful is this, it looks down when it has done something wrong. This enables it to gain a relationship, but the story is different when it comes to a snake. Snakes will look you right in the eye whilst doing the wrong. Snakes will look you in the eye and even spit into it. This makes it lose relationships.

These animals represent two people in life; there is one kind of people, when they go wrong, they look down and are able to say “I am sorry, I am wrong, forgive me”.

There is another kind who are like the snake; they will rather look into your eyes and say the worst things, do the worst. With this attitude of the dog, no wonder it is man’s best friend, whilst the snake is one of man’s worst enemy.

Man is able to house a dog, take care of it, trust and share his food with it but man cannot trust a snake. It is ungrateful, does not change but only sheds its skin.

Today if you are to be put into these two category of animals, who are you? Dog or snake? There are many friends and people we keep in our lives who are either snakes or dogs. Be careful of who you keep. Be forgiving, be understanding, but don’t be a fool. Remember, its either a snake or a dog.

We live in a society where people treat the wrong right and the right wrong, be careful you don’t mistaken a snake for a dog. If they hurt you, but figure out they are wrong, forgive and keep the relationship. But if they hurt you, and without any remorse go on to do the worst, please distance yourself from them.

Our world is full of monsters (snakes) with friendly faces and angels (dogs) full of scars. You have to be careful who you are dealing with. You need discernment, the Spirit of God to see beyond the faces and scars.

Peter and Judas Iscariot are a classic example. Jesus Christ had to deal with the two, Judas Iscariot was the snake, he didn’t just betray Him whist looking into His eyes but went ahead to take his life. Peter on the other hand after denying Jesus Christ whilst looking down, was remorseful and couldn’t look up. At the end of the day, he didn’t do the worst. Jesus Christ got back to him to start His church.

May this be your prayer this morning “Examine me, O God, and know my mind; test me, and discover my thoughts. Find out if there is any evil in me and guide me in the everlasting way” Psalm 139:23-24 (GNT). Amen

“But now I fear that you will be tricked, just as Eve was tricked by that lying snake” – 2 Corinthians 11:3a (CEV).
