What happens when you eat unripe fruit like mango; you end up have reactions like sores in your mouth, stomach upset, etc. No matter how impatient we are, it is best to wait for the fruit we adore to ripen and become ready for consumption. It may take some time but it will surely come to pass. In Ecclesiastes 3:1 (MSG), the good book says “Theres an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth.
Then in vs 5b it says A right time to make love and another to abstain”. How many of us know there is a right time for love? Nowadays, relationships are rushed, no wonder they end so quickly. The focus of most relationships has become sex. People are too quick to have sex.
It seems gone are the days when people got married to have sex for the first time. Being able to hug someone was something to look forward to, and kissing someone was a big step and actually meant something. These days, people don’t value these things and just skip straight to sex.
More are becoming emotionally attached too soon, as result of this they are not ready to deal with the complications that come after. In Song of Solomon 8:4 (MSG) the bible warns us on this: “Imagine! His left hand cradling my head, his right arm around my waist! Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem: Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripeand you’re ready”.
Its amazing to know this verse has being repeated two more times in the same Songs of Solomon. These are found in chapters 2:7 and 3:5; which shows how important this warning is. There is no need rushing thing for anything worth having is worth waiting for. Premature love only leads to lust, death, hurt, hatred and Insecurities.
You will end up sleeping with the spirits of Regret, befriend Pain and make Heartache your love. Sex is for the married, date when you are ready for marriage and not because others are doing it.
