God in His infinite wisdom realized that it’s not good for ,Adam, whom He had created to be alone in the garden, he needed a companion as his help meet, took his rib to create his companion, the bone of his bones and the flesh of his flesh. Genesis 2:18-23.
Marriage is very much important, it’s not good to be alone but it’s very worse to be with the wrong person.
God who initiated this institution saw the enviable benefits and importance of it thereby introducing it.
But, it’s very damning that the error of men has turned this wonderful gift of God upside down. They wrongly pursue it in their own way and end up messing it up.
When you fail to follow the laid down principles of marriage, you end up abusing it and the subsequent result becomes uncalled for.
Before you proceed getting into marriage with the one you’ve found, make sure you don’t jump over the will of God and choose your own will.
You can personally consider the following below as a basic foundation.
Marry the one who will love your God and your faith. Not the one who will love you without the former and the latter.
How wonderful it is to have the same God and faith with your partner. The scripture says, “iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” according to proverbs 27:17, two of you then become formidable in the Lord and faith thereof.
This then make you TWO a sheer embodiment of the verse that says, “two are better than one.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
Together you stand strong and face life and whatever is ahead…
And behind a successful man, there’s a virtuous woman.
The woman keeps the man company, they share ideas and make things progress in their lives.
Most importantly, their relationship with God is highly imparted.
When you marry someone void of your God and faith, chance is that, things get upside down and the challenge is unbearable. You may end up compromising your God and faith.
You know, cat and dog cannot possibly fit in the chemistry. World apart and poles apart cannot progressively interlace.
One may ask, how may I know that the person in question is not pretending to be aligned with the above, since many pretend for the sake of what they want?
That’s a very sensible question.
I remember the situation of one Deeper Life lady who got married to a Muslim man.
The man had been sighting the lady for long and made much inquiry about the lady. He was so obsessed with the lady. He realized that without pretending to be a member of her Church and in the same faith with her, there’s no way he could succeed marrying her.
He got into Deeper Life and involved himself so much in most of the church’s activities. He was so dedicated to the extent that one cannot possibly grab him in his scheme. He proposed to this sister and his wish was granted. They got married just for the lady to discover the man doing his Islamic prayers in their house few days after the marriage.
The lady who couldn’t understand what her husband was doing had to question him.
The man had to break out the shocking news to her that he is a Muslim and had never been a Christian. He pretended of being a member of Deeper Life just to get access to her and marry her as he has been so much in love with her and that’s the only way he could get her.
What a terrible deception. Are they going to divorce? No, the harm had already occurred.
The lady was so much careless to have sought the face of God concerning the man when he brought his proposal. She was just moved by sight.
The simple answer is that, don’t just conclude on a mere sight. Not all that glitters is gold. Some golds are wrapped in a rag whiles some that appear as gold are just a decorated garbage, they are just made to appear as gold for deception. Behind some laughter, there’s deception and evil.
In your choosing, just let God lead you. Consult Him, when you experience doubt or fear, just back off. He will convince you on the right thing or may reveal to you.
Notwithstanding, whosoever God chooses personally for you is your soul mate and help meet, don’t ever try to turn it down because it doesn’t meet up with the above. God is the creator and He knows best, He sees ahead of you. He’s a God of possibility. He builds something from nothing, He turns the unexpected to expectations.
I declare and decree, may you marry according to the will of God and enjoy your marriage life.
May the Lord lead you as you step into the path of marriage.
To those who have already made the mistake of getting into the wrong marriage, divorcing is not the solution. You can’t correct wrong with wrong. Accept it and think of a better solution to make it better. He who carelessly make the mistake must take the responsibility to solve it’s implication instead of running away from it.
Seek the face of God in prayers, ask for forgiveness and mercy.
