SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE REQUIRES MAINTENANCE

I have been to various church services and there is one interesting thing I observed; when a wedding announcement is made, the cheers from the singles, married, the old and the young speak volumes. We are all happy when we hear of people getting married, this means marriage is a good thing. Either they really found true love or not, marriage is for life. One thing that a lot of people try to avoid is issues that confront marriages. No matter how good a person you are, you can easily become an enemy when you try to talk about these challenges at ones wedding.

Marriage is not a Paradise, to love is a decision. It requires a lot of courage from you. It also demands time and effort. For those who keep asking if there is a true love, the answer is: True love exists only for those people who are willing to commit to their vows. It is your love for each other that will get you through trials. Make your relationship well-equipped with trust, love, and effort.

For there is no perfect relationship. No matter how long you have been together, or how much you love each other, there will come a time when your relationship will be tested. Do not easily give up during trials; pray and work for it. Remember, true love endures everything. True love is like a pillow; you can hug it when you are in trouble, you can cry on it when you are in pain, you can embrace it when you are happy. I always tell my wife: “When I fight with you, I’m really fighting for us.

If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t even bother”. If your spouse does something that disappoints, hurts or frustrates you, don’t expect them to read your mind. Openly and calmly tell your spouse how you feel about what they did. Keeping things in your heart will cause you to be bitter towards him or her. When your spouse commits a mistake and asks for forgiveness, there’s really nothing to forgive.

Because if you love someone there are no rules and apologies, just understanding. In conclusion, “People who take care of fig trees are allowed to eat the fruit. In the same way, people who take care of their masters will be rewarded” – Proverbs 27:18 (ERV).
