Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Daniel 4:30 …Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?
God opposes the proud. Proverbs 8:13 tells us that: … Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverted mouth, I hate.
Pride and self-conceit are sins that beset great men. They are apt to take that glory to themselves which is due to God only.
Consider King Nebuchadnezzar [Dan. 4:28-32]. While the proud word was in his mouth [Dan 4:30], the powerful word came from God [vs 32].
And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.
At the height of Nebuchadnezzar’s pride, God took him down and turned him into a wild beast for 7 years [ Dan 4:32].God justly makes him less than a man because of his pride!
We should be careful not to do any thing which may provoke God. In whatever we do, whatever we achieve, we must glorify God.
Let us humble ourselves before the Lord, and he will lift us up [James 4:10].
God bless you and keep you safe.
