Sex is a gift that God gives to married people to provide physical and spiritual unity, to generate children and also for the pleasure of both. The Bible says in Proverbs 5: 18-19: “Your fountain be blessed; and rejoice in the woman of your youth. Like a loving doe, and a graceful mountain goat, your breasts are satiated at all times; and by your love be perpetually enchanted. ”
The Bible teaches that sexual intimacy is unique to the context of marriage. The Bible says in Hebrews 13: 4: “Honorable be marriage and the bed without spot; for the wanton and adulterers, God will judge them. ”The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7: 3-4:“ The husband should pay the woman what is due, and the woman in the same way with the husband. The woman has no authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise, the husband has no authority over his own body, but the wife does. ”
God created sex as part of marriage. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7: 5: “Do not deny one another, but by mutual agreement for a time, in order to apply yourselves to prayer and then join together again, lest Satan tempt you by your incontinence. “
In creation God established limits that must be respected for human well-being and happiness. In order for us not to harm ourselves, sexual desires and activities must be kept under the control of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-5: “For this is the will of God, namely, your sanctification: that you abstain from prostitution, that each of you knows how to possess his vessel in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God. ”
The seventh commandment prohibits adultery. The Bible says in Exodus 20:14: “You shall not commit adultery.” Sexual sin is destructive even if the consequences are not immediately seen. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:18: “Flee prostitution. Any other sin that a man commits is outside the body; but whoever prostitutes himself sins against his own body. ”
How does sexual sin begin? The Bible says in Matthew 5:28: “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
The Bible condemns homosexual behavior. The Bible says in Romans 1: 26-27: “Therefore God gave them up to vile passions. Because even their women have changed natural use in what is contrary to nature; similarly, men too, leaving the natural use of women, became inflamed in their sensuality towards each other, man with man, committing turpitude and receiving in themselves the due reward of their error. ”
The Bible prohibits incest. The Bible says in Leviticus 18: 6: “None of you will come near to the one who is close by blood, to discover her nakedness. I am the Lord. ”
The Bible forbids bestiality. The Bible says in Leviticus 18:23: “You shall not lie down with any animal, defiling yourself with it; nor will a woman stand before an animal to gather with it; it’s confusion. ”
The Bible prohibits sexual relations with a prostitute. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6: 15-17: “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a harlot? Not at all. Or do you not know that what is joined to the harlot is made a body with it? Because, as has been said, the two will be one flesh. But what unites with the Lord is one spirit with him
