While praise is to commend your spouse for who he or she is, appreciation is to commend him or her for what he or she has done right.
One of the casualties of familiarity in marriage or serious relationship is that couples or partners will begin to take their good deeds for granted.
Instead for them to appreciate each other’s good deeds they will rather put up the attitude of “that is what you ought to do in the first place”.
Marriage comes with certain rights and certain duties.
If your spouse fails to do what he or she ought to have done It is your right to complain. But now that your spouse have done the right thing it is your responsibility to appreciate him or her.
The Bible says:
“As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.” Proverbs? 27:21
Your man wants to be praised.
Just the way you like to be appreciated, your spouse wants it too. Appreciate your spouse.
