Amplified Bible. Genesis 2:18
[18]Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
As we turned to the word of God again and again to search for wisdom, we discovered that Marriage is a critical and crucial instrument in achieving God’s plan on Earth.
The verse quote above raised some crucial issues that I am trusting God that we will look at it in the future, but for this particular write up, I will by the grace of God focus on the second part of the verse. Let me say that it is just a simple understanding as many of you may have a broader shed of meaning. I just want to draw the attention of both our singles and married sisters to the divine role God has allocated to them by Mercy.
…I WILL MAKE HIM A HELPER MEET…..
the first thing that capture my attention in this second part of verse 18 is the pronoun “I”. This has to be so because it is God that makes all things. The place for making of a correct Helper is in God.
Dear sister, the divine input that will make you a correct Helper is not in movies, in psychology, or in philosophy but in God. It is not even in correct make up but in God.
This therefore implied that any one of you sisters that desire to be a good helper must go to the only one who makes women good helpers.
The word “I” could also mean ” I am the only one”. Seeking to be made good helpers not in God is an effort in futility.
Whether you are married, about to or you are of age, you must raise a cry to ONE who makes women. You must depend only on his wisdom to get it right in life. I really feel that this issue cannot be overemphasize. Are you born again dear sister? Have you come to the ONE who makes women great Helpers? Have you come to the Lord Jesus Christ?
I will want you to note that the Genesis chapter 2 Marriage was a correct Marriage because both the man and the woman were having personal relationship with God. A helper is at best a hovoc if it is not in Christ.
Secondly, the word HELPER also make a serious impression upon my heart.
Let me quickly note that the word HELPER was use mostly in the Bible to describe:
1 the holy Spirit.
2 the woman.
I believe that this is not a mere coincidence. It is a critical and crucial issue in the heart of God.
Being a helper does not in any way make a woman secondary in the purpose of God.
For some one therefore to be a helper, he/she must be strong enough or even stronger than the person who needs help.
Dear sister, because of the crucial nature of this ministry, a helper cannot be a SPOON-FEED BELIEVER. A woman who only wait for my spiritual father/mother said….. A helper must be some one who is standing on his/her own. I need your prayers or a please pray for me kind of a woman will give only little or no help at all to the man. A woman who only fast and pray when prayers meeting are organize in the church will also render only little help to the man. A woman who only move when others are pushing ( a wheelbarrow woman) will not do much either.
Rebecca was such a big help to Isaac because she could go to God alone and ask questions. If not for Rebecca, Isaac could have bless Esau instead and there by causing a serious havoc on the recovery Walk of God.
Dear sister, you must be able to seek God alone and stand before God alone in other to receive devine input that are relevant to a man.
Dear sister, it is indeed a great ministry that God has handed to you but the crucial issue that guarantee your fulfilling this ministry is your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. Could it be that sin has eaten you up and has make you an alien to this divine call?
Come to Jesus again because he will pure new wine into your wineskin.
DISCIPLESHIP: GOD’S MEANS OF MAKING(BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF) A HELPER.
The necessity of discipleship in our lives cannot be reemphasize. [ Go ye into the nations and make disciples of all men is our Lord command to us]. Discipleship simply put is learning to become like Jesus.
You will recall that the only life God has spoken from above to approved to all men is the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. [This is my beloved son in whom I am well please]. In other words, God seem to be saying that the only manner of life that I am please with and have accepted is what you see in Jesus. The extent to which we please God is the extent to which he sees the life of Christ in us.
Any one of us therefore who desire to please God must of a necessity learn the life that God is please with, even the life of Christ.
