1) PRIDE.
A person who is proud can not be romantic. It takes humility and a willingness to be vulnerable, down to earth, shameless and real to one’s spouse for one to be romantic.
Being romantic involves words, and acts that will mean you will drop your titles, achievements, status and age just to come to your partners level to make them feel special, a proud person can’t do all that.
A proud Man or Woman will not want to be seen as weak, or as a “lover boy or girl”. They’ll always feel too big to do certain things, you’ll hear some say “a whole me?, God forbid”
A Proud man will not want to carry his wife’s handbag because he feels he will be seen as weak by other Men, or a “Woman wrapper”. But a humble person doesn’t mind all that at all
2) SHAME
Another reason some people find it hard to be romantic or get involved in public display of affection (PDA) is shyness. They are too shy
The Man/Woman can’t express himself or do certain romantic things because they are shy and worried about what people will say.
Even if you shall shy, shall you shy for your spouse?
Want to be more in touch with your romantic side? Overcome your shyness. Be bold, forget what people will say. Let your love show on private and in public.
3) IGNORANCE
Yeah. Ignorance.
Being romantic takes being intentional most times, intentional and aware do what to do/say to make your partner blush and feel loved.
When a person is not very exposed, they will do love the way they saw their grand parents and parents in 1990 doing it.

4) WRONG BELIEF/TRADITIONS
There are beliefs and cultures that are anti-romance in nature.
A culture that believes a Man doesn’t enter the kitchen, such a Man’s wife can as well forget breakfast in bed.
There are cultures that believe a Man should not be seen playing with his wife, or washing her clothes, or doing anything for her, that it’s an abomination as she is a property.
This is why traditional Men are hardly romantic compared to the more exposed Men who have broken free from tradition.
Being romantic simply means knowing how to creatively express one’s love to one’s Spouse.
Marriage will be more Fun if everyone were Romantic.
