As humans, one element that keeps our relationship with others is love. When people genuinely love you, you are safe in their company, you are in their thoughts, they protect you, care for you, look for your best interest.
So when you want to marry, one thing that matters is to find out if you love the person and does the person love you as well. Going into marriage without love but to find someone who will meet a need in your life only leads to disappointment.
People who love you are careful about how they treat you. They don’t want to lose you so they are mindful of actions and behaviour that can cause them to lose you. At any point time that they feel they are losing you or the relationship they shared with you, they fight for you and the relationship.
They are willing to make changes in their lives to keep the relationship, they are able to listen to know what is pushing you away. If you are in any relationship where your partner is okay losing you, it is a clear sign such a person does not love you and you have no need in their life.
It’s a strong conviction they want a life without you. You need to accept that and stop fighting for them. For you cannot keep people who do not want to stay in your life. You cannot have what does not belong to you.
Learn to use your two hands well, one to hold yourself and those who love you. Never should you go out chasing people who don’t want to be with you. No matter how strong your two hands are, you cannot use them to hold down a person who wants to leave.
In conclusion “Turn to the Lord for help in everything you do, and you will be successful” – Proverbs 16:3
