The day after the wedding is called marriage. There are differences between wedding and marriage: the wedding is just a matter of few hours while marriage is for a lifetime. This is why God mentioned marriage more than a wedding in the Bible.
Marriage is a journey and not a destination. It is a journey you have never embarked on. Therefore, adequate preparation is necessary.
Many are carried away with WEDDING PREPARATIONS and by the time they get into marriage, they then start searching for MARRIAGE in an UNPREPARED MARRIAGE. The truth is that you don’t learn how to shot a gun on the battlefront; but rather you learn before the battle begins. You don’t prepare “IN” marriage; you prepare “FOR” marriage.
There is knowledge about the Mysteries of Marriage every child of God needs to know before entering into marriage and continue pursuing that knowledge thereafter.
The Hebrew word for preparation is kuwn and it means “to make yourself READY for something that you will be DOING”. Wedding preparation is something you do for NOW, but Marriage Preparation is to make yourself READY for something you will be DOING until death does you part.
One of the powerful verses about preparation for anything is in Proverbs 24: 27 “PREPARE your work outside; get everything READY for yourself in the field, and after that BUILD your house”. ESV
You can’t start building a house without preparation. The major cause of the marital breakdown is lack of preparation, and the only guarantee for effective marriage is preparation.
Preparation makes you feel more comfortable and makes you more effective.
And the advantage is that you can manage problems more quickly and more efficiently because you will already have the solutions at hand ready to be implemented.
The major cause of failure is lack of preparation, and the only chance for greatness is preparation.
You either prepare to succeed or subscribe to regret because you don’t prepare. Marriage is not a change in life it is simply the reflection of one’s single life.
