DANGERS OF INCOMPATIBLE MARRIAGE

My dear brothers and sisters, today I want to talk to you about the dangers of entering into an incompatible marriage. Marriage is a sacred institution, and it is not something that should be taken lightly. It is a commitment that requires two people who are compatible and willing to work together to build a strong foundation for their relationship.

Proverbs 19:14 says, “House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.” This verse reminds us that finding a suitable spouse is a gift from God, and it is not something that should be taken for granted. We should pray and seek God’s guidance before entering into any marriage.

1 Corinthians 7:39 tells us that a woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives, but if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but only if he belongs to the Lord. This verse shows us that it is essential to marry someone who shares our faith and values. If we enter into a marriage with someone who does not share our beliefs, it can cause conflicts and difficulties in our relationship.

Proverbs 22:24-25 warns us not to make friends with a hot-tempered person, nor associate with one who is easily angered, lest we learn their ways and get ourselves ensnared. This verse applies to marriage as well. If we marry someone who has a temper or is easily angered, we may find ourselves in a difficult and dangerous situation.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 advises us not to be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? This verse reminds us that it is crucial to marry someone who shares our values and beliefs. If we marry someone who does not share our faith, it can cause conflicts and difficulties in our relationship.

In conclusion, my dear brothers and sisters, we must look well before we leap into marriage. We must seek God’s guidance and pray for discernment before making such a life-altering decision. We must make sure that we are compatible with our potential spouse and that we share the same values and beliefs. Remember, marriage is a commitment that requires two people who are willing to work together to build a strong foundation for their relationship. May God guide us all in finding a suitable spouse and in building a happy and lasting marriage. Amen.
