Everyone wants a relationship that won’t hold them back, but move them forward; a best friend, a partner they can share their thoughts, fears, dreams, fantasies, etc. A partner they can live with, dance with, struggle with, travel with, shop with. Someone they can laugh with, have fun with, build with. Someone they can trust with their life, money and heart. Someone they are not afraid to lose because they will always be there; a partner who will love to build their relationship too. This can only be achieved on the foundation of openness and truth.
Lots of people in relationship these days keep things to themselves, they don’t communicate, keep on acting strange. Forgetting that relationship is all about sharing. Love is not selfish, you can’t be in love alone. No matter the weight of the issues, its worth sharing with your best friend whom you are in love with. You can’t tell me you love me and don’t want to hurt me, that’s why you keep hiding things from me. Hiding destroys relationships.
There is beauty in truth, even if it’s painful. Those who lie twist life so that it looks tasty to the lazy, brilliant to the ignorant, and powerful to the weak. But lies only strengthen our defects. They don’t teach anything, help anything, fix anything or cure anything. Nor do they develop one’s character, one’s mind, one’s heart or one’s soul.
The greatest advantage of speaking the truth is that you don’t have to remember what you said. Remember that LOVE isn’t always perfect. It isn’t a fairytale or a storybook. And it doesn’t always come easy. Love is overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, fighting to be together, holding on and never letting go. It is a short word, easy to spell, difficult to define and impossible to live without. Love is work, but most of all, love is realizing that every hour, every minute and every second was worth it because you did it together.
