“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV).”
The act of sex is preceded by romance. Love, kissing, caressing and the likes must be in place before engaging in the main act. In other words, romance can lead to sex. It’s only rapists and sex addicts that extract romance from sex.
Romance or romantic love is an emotional feeling of love for, or a strong attraction towards another person, and the courtship behaviors undertaken by an individual to express those overall feelings and resultant emotions.
I’ve heard unmarried couples say that they only engage in romantic activities but do not engage in sex. They say that they only kiss and touch each other’s sensitive parts such as the breasts, butt, chest, laps, penis, vagina etc. You can’t keep doing this over time and expect not to be aroused to engage in sex.
The Bible encourages abstinence from sex as well as sexual purity. Virginity without purity does not please the Lord. You claim to be a virgin but you have done all manner of abominable stuffs ranging from kissing to fingering. Your breasts have become specimen that boys and girls experiment on frequently, your buttocks is touched at random by guys and ladies, and you seem to be comfortable with these. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as such. Do not allow anyone to defile your body, not even your relatives.
If you’re not married, there are certain things you can’t do in a relationship because they provoke sex. You can’t afford to be alone in a secluded place with your partner because the thoughts of having sex with him or her will come to your mind. You can’t be found kissing your partner passionately or casually because the natural response of your body is to proceed to sex.
You shouldn’t touch each other in places that are exclusively reserved for marriage such as the breasts, butt, laps and the likes. There should be purity and abstinence from sex in your relationship. The two go hand in hand. Don’t choose one over the other, choose both. Be sexually pure and maintain your virginity. If you’ve lost your virginity, choose not to defile yourself sexually again.
It’s possible to be pure in this impure world by the power of the Holy Spirit, but a choice to be pure must be made first. For our choices give the Holy Spirit permission to express His power in and through us.
Together, we can curb sexual immorality but it begins with you. Decide today to be chaste until marriage. I have decided to be sexually pure in this impure world, what about you?
