Many things can be kept secret in life; your plans, history, moves, etc. but not your spouse or the one you want to get married to. If the man or woman you love and want to settle down with says you should keep it a secret then you are in the wrong relationship or are with the wrong person.
There is no creature that is more blessed than man, which makes marriage one of the enviable blessings in life. This means the man or woman you want to get married to is more expensive than anything you have acquired in life. He or she is more valuable than your house, car or qualification. In Proverbs 18:22, the bible says in Contemporary English Version (CEV) “A mans greatest treasure is his wife she is a gift from the Lord”.
Another version says the man who finds a wife finds a good thing; she is a blessing to him from the Lord. The favour, the blessing, the treasure you are acquiring is like your lamp. The man or woman you want to get married to is like a lamp in your life. “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a clay pot. A lamp is put on a lampstand, so that everyone who comes into the house can see the light” – Luke 11:33 (CEV). God blesses us to be a blessing to others. Gods blessing brings honour into your life, it brings change into our life.
If the man or woman who want to marry sees you as their true wife and husband, know you are worth more than precious gem, then they don’t only admire you, appreciate you or trust you but also go ahead to show you. No one has the power to destroy what God has blessed you with or what God wants to bless you with, only if you don’t allow it. Naturally we are proud of what God blesses us with; we show it off, appreciate it. And doing so doesn’t destroy it or make God allow anyone to destroy it.
Naturally we hide what we are not proud of, we hide what we are not doing right, we hide what we are ashamed of, we hide what we don’t believe in, we hide what we don’t want to be associated with, we hide what we don’t love. If he or she is telling you, hiding you is for your own protection then where you are heading towards is not safe for you so you better leave. The truth is, there is no fear and hiding in love.
Love is truth, love is light. Love can never be darkness, it can never be hidden, it can never be a secret. If he or she is keeping you a secret, it means he or she doesn’t love you. And for that matter, they are likely to leave or disappear when their love is tested, when you need them the most.
They will run away at the time they are needed to show their love for you. If he or she can’t celebrate you, feel ashamed or embarrassed to display your picture on their profile picture, does not want to be seen in public with you public, you don’t need a prophet to tell you, you are in the wrong relationship. In conclusion “For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known” – Luke 12:2 (MEV).
