The individual mind is deep, and broad, and can travel, even faster than the speed of light. I don’t know if there has been any research into that. But if one can judge by the way my own mind works itself at times, I would say it’s true. Your mind can travel between different times in splits of seconds. It can travel between cities faster than you can snap your fingers. Your mind can replay events at such a speedy succession that it can work emotion in you.
Someone smiles suddenly at him or herself, and you wonder: What could she be smiling at or, I wonder why hes smiling at himself. Then another suddenly looks sad, and immediately that aura radiates around you. Whats wrong? Are you okay?
There have been numerous times I was sad and i didn’t know the reason I was sad. Sometimes I would have to backtrack to see why I was sad. It may be something someone did or said. Or it could be the particular situation I was in at the time. But these things work on your mind and wreak havoc on it.
Have you ever heard the saying: An idle mind is the devils workshop? When we allow our minds to wonder aimlessly it can wonder into dangerous territories. Therefore, we have to train our minds to go in the direction that will not only help us emotionally, but bless others too. When your mind tells you you’re happy, or, you tell your mind you’re happy – It changes your countenance.
It affects your work and the way you walk. You exude confidence. You see the good in others and love them.
The human MIND is the most deceitful of all things. It is incurable. No one can understand how deceitful it is. In the natural state, the heart is just bad.
That’s why we train a child in the Right path. But even as adults we still have to MIND our MINDS. The mind must constantly go through a purging process so as to be the way God wants it to be. Gods Word Translation of Matthew 15:19 says: Evil thoughts, murder, adultery, [other] sexual sins, stealing, lying, and cursing come from within. If thats the case, we must of a necessity train/teach our minds to be pure.
In conclusion, let us do our best to maintain always a blameless conscience both before God and before men!
