I was at the pharmacy to get some drug, surprisingly the attendant didn’t notice someone had entered the shop. I stood for minutes without getting any response. When I proceeded to call him, I realized he was lost in thoughts.
The mind is constantly creating an endless stream of thoughts so its easy to become caught up in our thoughts.
Studies have shown that the average person has more than thirty thousand thoughts a day. Of those thoughts, approximately ninety percent are said to be repetitive and eighty percent are classified as negative.
This also means most of these thoughts do not help our wellbeing or achievement. Some of these negative thoughts are worries.
The scripture asks “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? – Luke 12:25 (NIV)
But the truth is Worry is a total waste of time. It doesn’t change anything. All it does is steal your joy and keep you very busy doing nothing.
We over think and by so doing, end up creating problems that were not even there. We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world
It is not what you have, who you are, where you are, what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy, it’s what you think of.
Two people may be in the same place doing the same thing, and yet one may be miserable and the other happy. Why? Because of their different mental attitudes.
Today, say this to yourself “I will no longer allow the NEGATIVE things in my life to SPOIL all of the GOOD things God has for me. I choose to be HAPPY”.
Life is like the ocean. It can be calm or still, rough or rigid, but in the end, it is always beautiful.
If you cannot be the sun, then be a star. It is not by size that we win or fail. The difference lies in just being the best at whatever and wherever we are.
Please don’t forget to spread the good news. Someone out there needs it. This is your small way of blessing them.
