The Spartans say ‘’ If you sweat well in practice you will bleed less in battle. This is such a powerful frame of thinking because preparation sustains a person or gives the necessary mental and physical equipment to achieve a specific aim.
I know that you have goals you’d love to achieve this year, but before you start executing on those goals consider doing the following

1) DECIDE: The power to decide is one of the most powerful forces God has given to us as humans; this means that we can determine the direction of our lives. So, before you start taking action on your goals decide with exactitude what you want. The world is populated with a lot of opportunities but it is not every opportunity that is yours. Tony Robbins once said “it is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped”. A decision speaks of focus on a certain direction to the abandonment of other options.

2) SCRIPTING: Writing down your goal is the first step to move your goal from the unseen to the seen. Recent research from the Dominican University in California has proven that your chances of achieving your goal go up by 42% is when you write down your goals. Writing down your goal, gives your goals clarity, definition, and boundary. Go to a stationary shop now and buy a cool journal, some pen, and pencils and start writing down your goals.

3) VOICING: Your words form the shape in which your life exists, put differently ‘’Words are an invitation to life, a request to bring energy into form’’ Justin Perry. You will live under the influence of your predominant words. By voicing or speaking your goals out loud on a daily basis it makes you familiar with it, and the human brain likes doing what is familiar by speaking your goals out daily you’re making the unfamiliar, familiar.

4) MENTAL REHEARSAL: This is the process of mentally seeing yourself achieving your goals as if it is already done. Your brain cannot tell the difference between just mentally rehearsing your goal and seeing yourself achieving your goal. To your brain, they are both the same.

5) RATIONALIZE IT: Tell yourself the compelling reasons why you must achieve your goals. Your compelling reason helps you burst through hard times when they arise as you start taking action your goals. Compelling reasons forces you to come up with creative ways to solve problems when they arise as you start taking action in the direction of your goals.
