God does not usually test us with the big battles. It was in that little errand that God brought David before Goliath and used the moment to change the rest of his life. All the people that saw him going for that errand would never assumed that he wasn’t coming back as usual. David returned to his family as a captain of the Lord’s army and prospective son in-law to the king of Israel.
When we obey God in little, He commits us in bigger blessings and things.
God is always on the lookout for people who would never feel bothered when there doors are knocked upon to be opened. Jesus said, ‘I stand at the door and knock.. ‘.
Ignoring people has obviously defeated us in many ways and yet, we haven’t learnt our lessons.
Most people have ignored God to the point that they drink away their money with friends and not give to their own parents, and think it’s catching up with life. You mustn’t buy that new clothe because your friends can afford having it.
I watched a young barber who goes to orphanage homes to cut kids hair for free of charge. That young man understood purpose and secret of pulling God to His side. God is not going to ask you too feed a nation but rather, a soul. If you can’t love one person, you can’t love all.
At a point, Elijah was waiting for God…1st kings chapter 19
11The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
12After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
13When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”.
God always come small. He always start by asking us to do small insignificant things which we likely. fail at. Jesus said, ‘He that is faithful with little much will be given to him”.
It is possible to have big dreams about helping people and still not help a single person. We are always waiting for when we have it all to do something but at the moment, anything you have is enough for God to use it.
Elijah travelled far just to ask the widow for a piece of meal. Imagine how God could send His prophet to walk days and nights to make that request that seemed stupid. There were kings and God still didn’t send the prophet to them.
When that little man or woman stands asking you for something small, don’t assume that he or she is the one asking. The truth is, God is actually the one who is asking you through that fellow.
A lot of us have met God directly and still assumed it was just our neighbour or friend.
A man took the money saved for his house rent and paid his neighbor’s daughter’s school fees. The landlord came same day and embarrassed him for owing him. A day after, in his dream, he saw a man stood before him and said, ‘tell me what kind of blessings you need. You stood for me when everyone else couldn’t. What you did for that little girl, you did for me’. He couldn’t say a word in that dream. God still played out His part. Three years after, he bought the same house the owner embarrassed him for.
Often times, we see people with their needs but actually it’s God trying to find out if we are smart enough to spot Him.
Abraham was so smart that while resting outside his tent, he was able to recognize God amongst three men that stood a bit far from where he was. He asked them in and tend for them. That was how God revealed His plan against soddom to him and saved his nephew, Lot.
You always feel that people bother you with money needs but that’s not true. God knows how to go through people to search their hearts. What do you do or say when people ask you to stand up for them?.
Don’t take every little opportunity to be good for granted.
